 Introduction

Human influenza A and B are enveloped RNA viruses of the Orthomyxoviridae family. While both of these viruses cause seasonal flu epidemics, Influenza A virus is responsible for majority of them and may also cause pandemics.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is also an enveloped RNA virus and belongs to Paramyxoviridae family. RSV mostly causes lower respiratory tract infections with cold like symptoms in healthy individuals but it may casue also severe respiratory infections in some.

Flu-RSV RQ kit provides a ready-to-use One-Step Multiplex Real- Time RT-PCR system for detection of Influenza A virus, Influenza B virus and RSV with Rotor-Gene. In this method application of fluorescent probes allows detection of multiple targets within the same PCR reaction. Analysis of fluorescent kinetics also leads to detection of target sequences in the reaction without requiring post- amplification analysis therefore, reducing the possibility of contamination with the PCR product.
