Introduction

Herpes RQ kit provides a ready-to-use Real-Time PCR test for detection of Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Herpes Simplex virus-1 (HSV-1), Herpes Simplex virus-2 (HSV-2), Epstein Barr virus (EBV) and Varicella Zoster virus (VZV) DNA.

Kit contains two PCR Mixes, with all required reagents included. One of the Mixes also contains a different series of primers and probe for detecting a synthetic DNA sequence. The kit supplies this synthetic DNA sequence as an Internal Control (IC). The IC can be used either during DNA extraction or in the PCR reaction to prevent false negative results due to failure in the above steps.
